Aims

The student will:
- acquire central concepts of applied and theoretical linguistics
- develop knowledge of using different medias in teaching German linguistics
- develop the ability to develp didactic concepts in order to transfer knowledge of German linguistics

Main themes

Methodological problems of teaching German linguistics / creative teaching methods; Usage of video(s)/computer(s) in teaching; etc.

Content and teaching methods

Development of teaching goals with respect to German linguistics, i.e., with respect to German grammar (phonetics/phonology, syntax, morphology, semantics). Using different medias in teaching linguistics. The course requires the student's active participation in discussions, in reading scientific texts. Furthermore, every student has to give a short presentation (or to write an essay) on "methodological problems of teaching German linguistics."

Pré-requis Introduction to German linguistics.

Evaluation Presentation of one of the topics of the course (with discussion) and a written exam.

Support 1. scientific articles/chapters in books, 2. a written guideline " how to present a linguistic work ", 3. the students get aid with the workout of their presentations (content, structuring, …).
