Aims

At the end of this module, the student will have developed mainly receptive (listening and reading) abilities in English. The level reached will be sufficient to understand a scientific text in English on the subject of physical education or physiotherapy and rehabilitation as well as to understand a simple oral communication in these domains.

Main themes

To fulfil these objectives, teaching activity will focus on the following topics
- reading strategies in the foreign language
- decoding strategies for listening comprehension in the foreign language
- English grammatical structures
- development of English vocabulary pertaining to the science of motricity

Content and teaching methods

Code and title :
ANGL 1851 English comprehension of scientific texts of physiotherapy, rehabilitation and physical education.

- Year of study : IEPR Bac 2.

- Number of hours, rhythm, terms : 60h, 2h/week, the whole year.
- Aim:
reading and listening comprehension of texts in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and physical education, study of specific vocabulary and basic grammar, reading aloud (stress and pronunciation).

- Evaluation : diagnostic and exemption tests ; written and oral exams.

Written or oral exam and/or some continuous assessmentAt the beginning of the year, students may take a test organised by ILV to determine the level of English. Successful students will be exempted from the course
