Main themes

Critical examination of the liturgical sources of a given celebration.

Content and teaching methods

2001-2002 :

The new edition of the marriage Ritual is expected in the next few months. The course will examine this ritual and compare it to the liturgical book of 1969 as well as some older marriage rituals. Lex orandi, lex credendi : what theology and what confession of faith is expressed in this marriage rite ? What sort of ministry is required for this ritual to have a chance ? How does inculturation (notably in Africa) mark the marriage liturgy today ? These are the types of questions taken up in this course.
