 Aims
The history of exegesis is situated at the crossroads of various disciplines : the history of thought and culture (hermeneutics, interpretation), the history of theology, and exegesis as it functions today. The course will try to make the diversity and rapid modifications in contemporary exegetical methods understandable and measure the historical impact of the phenomenon.
Main themes
The contents vary from year to year. The method consists especially in applying an interpretational grid to commentaries, showing the commentator's operations.
