Aims

1/Initiation to the research methods and tools of French linguistics.
2/Initiation to the analysis of concrete and diversified linguistic facts (written texts, oral corpora, etc.).

Main themes

Study of documents from different corpora (literary or not) acquainting the student with the basic requirements of linguistic analysis.

Content and teaching methods

Students will become acquainted with linguistic data from various registers of the French language. The observation of these data should lead to a first analysis of linguistic facts making use of the main research tools.

Assessment is based on student participation and an individual assignment.
