Aims
This course gives students the capacity to situate in history the main Christological problems and to understand the evolution of the Christological language and its conceptual development.

Main themes
Intended to offer an overall perspective, the course provides a basic, fundamental knowledge of Christology (the person of Jesus) and of soteriology (salvation in Jesus Christ) on the historical and doctrinal level.

Content and teaching methods
From the apostolic Christologies to the latest developments, the task is to show the most salient evolutions within a trajectory deliberately in continuity with the first witnesses. To which challenges do these creative moments respond ? The adoption of a language, the development of new concepts, different ages in the community and its thought: what scriptural hermeneutics and dogmatic language accompanies these reinterpretations?
