Aims
This course provides an introduction to the entire Pauline corpus, teaching students how to read this type of literature and pointing out some major traits of the theology of St. Paul, linked to earlier traditions and the life of the communities for which it was intended.
Main themes
A major part of the course will bear on exegesis of sections chosen from an epistle that are representative of important aspects of the theology of Saint Paul. This exegesis will be based on an analysis of Pauline rhetoric and theological vocabulary; it will leave room for comparison with data provided by other letters of the corpus.
The exercises are exercises in biblical Greek, dealing with extracts from Pauline texts.
