Content and teaching methods
The course is currently devoted to the economics of restructured electricity system. The material follows Sotft's book "Power System Economics: Designing Markets for Electricity" Wiley 2002. The book allows one to apply many important and basic concepts of microeconomics to a particular field of the energy world. It also introduces the various questions faced by the electricity industry in its restructuring process. The course covers the material on power market fundamentals, reliability price spikes and investment, market architecture and market power.
