Aims
By the end of this preseminar, the student should be able to put into practice the historian's procedure in the documentary and critical study of a precise question in medieval history
Main themes
This preseminar is intended as a preparation for the corresponding licence seminar.
During group work sessions, each participant, based on a preliminary personal work, presents his analysis of an aspect of his chosen theme, paying particular attention to heuristic and critical aspects.
The procedures and treatment stages, as well as the general synthesis and conclusions are elucidated in common.
Content and teaching methods
Consisting of a seminar simulation, in preparation for the licence seminar. But also, for those who do not centre their research and licence memoir on the middle ages, it should provide as concrete a notion as possible of what the medieval world is and the work of those who reconstitute it. Based on a theme proposed, we determine the procedures and stages of treatment (a questionnaire, heuristics, criticism, analysis, synthesis and presentation of results). Each participant carries out his own research, based on close supervision.
