Aims

By the end of this course the students should dispose of an advanced academic vocabulary in Dutch and have developed a near-native stylistic sensibility in academic reading and writing.

Main themes

Improvement of Dutch language proficiency, especially the grammatical and stylistic proficiency. The various registers of the written language in Dutch are explored and lexical and grammatical exercises focusing on written academic language have to be done by the students.

Content and teaching methods

This advanced course in communicative skills in Dutch has two main goals. First goals: the progressive development of a near-native stylistic sensibility in the use of Dutch. Especially the written registers will be explored. The second goals is the development of an academic writing skill in Dutch through well adjusted exercises, both lexical and grammatical.
