Knowledge of the principal orientations of the history of German literature from Romanticism until the 20th century.
Main themes
The lectures are the continuation of GERM 1116. We will distinguish and comment the specific features of the important literary movements in their proper socio-cultural contexts. Important authors and works of German literature will be explored. A selection of representative texts will illustrate the main trends and make them more concrete. These excerpts will be read at home by the students and discussed collectively in tutorial sessions (15 hours) animated by an assistant.
