Aims

To understand the formation, organisation and evolution of economical regions.

Main themes

Specifications :
Geographical space and its representations: places, networks, distances; - Weberian approach to industrial localisation : geographical organization of production, impact of network morphology, - The geographical systems of prie and price formation in space - the spatial monopol, the competition "Hotelling", spatial balance (Takayama and Judge); - public services: spatial public service, - Spatial interaction: gravitary and entropic models, - Urban systems : models of Christaller-Lösch; - The region: concept, theory of the economic basis, tables of industrial exchange, regional dynamics, - The relations between regions: regional point, shift-and-share analysis, inter-regionnal exchanges, inter-regionnal disparity, center-periphery relations (Krugman), - Urban and regional planification.
