Aims
The class aims at training students in the design of new pharmaceutical formulations by using their knowledge in pharmaceutical technology, pharmacokinetics and physico-chemistry.
Main themes
The new pharmaceutical formulations studied will be : sustained-release systems, transdermal systems, transmucosal routes of administration (nasal and pulmonary), drug carriers (liposomes, microspheres, micelles)
Content and teaching methods
The class consists principally of lectures in which theoretical concepts are illustrated by examples. Seminaries consist of oral presentations of new pharmaceutical formulations by the students, based on scientific articles or patents.
