Aims
The course is an introduction to clinical methods (psycho-clinical and socio-clinical) in case studies, analysis of problematic situations, and preparation of action program for subjects placed in a closed environment.
The course will cover:
a) the problems linked to the prognosis of violent behavior;
b) the clinical characteristics and the typology of perpetrators of homicide;
c) criminological, psychopathological and therapeutic characteristics of the psychopathic personality;
d) clinical evaluation of sexual abusers, associated typology and the major therapeutic models advocated
Elements of deontology will be taken into consideration.
Main themes
*Preparation of an evaluation protocol for the adult criminal subject, including maintenance and testing elements;
* Knowledge of criminological and psychological characteristics of the populations studied;
* Scientific and ethical limits of expertise practice;
* Problems linked to the prognosis of violent behavior;
* Clinical characteristics and typology of perpetrators of homicide;
* Criminological, psychopathological and therapeutic characteristics of the psychopathic personality;
* Clinical evaluation of sexual abusers, associated typology and the major therapeutic models advocated.
Content and teaching methods
Data and theories from the scientific literature will be presented from transparencies and from scientific texts. The course will be illustrated by case studies, some to be presented orally and others by video.
