Aims

At the end of the programme students must be able to take care of children and teen-agers by acquaring the basic knowledge to assess the specifics of child and teenager care.
Please keep in mind that this follow up needs specific requirements, including the fact that these patients must benefit of a multidiscipline (stomatologie, periodontics… ) approach.

Main themes

The programme is divided in 3 groups :

1) clinical training on Frasaco teeth in order to achieve technical skills only related to paediatric dentistry :
*shape of the cavities on temporary teeth
*endodontic treatment with paste in temporary teeth
*preparing paediatric crowns

2) Before taking care of their own patients, 4th year students get used to visits and dental treatments by doing assistantships. They will cooperate with teachers, postgraduate students or 5th year students.
Goals : get used with burocratic, psychological and physiological requirements .Linkages between the lectures and clinical evidence.

3) After having archiedved the points above, 4th year students will work in the dental paediatrics department as part of their general training in the Ecole de Médecine dentaire et de Stomatologie.

Content and teaching methods

1) CONTENT
At the end of the programme, students must be able to : diagnosis, early intercept and treat
any problems related to children and teenagers dentistry

2) METHODOLOGY :
- Clinical training in which the student insures complete dental follow up till the end of the
treatment.
- Every step is supervised by a teacher or a postgraduate student
