Aims
In complement to the general organic chemistry course, the courses of applied organic chemistry emphasis the industrial point of view of organic synthesis. By this approach, the student will find organic chemistry in a new context. He recognized at the same time the relative importance of reactions as well as economical and ecological criterias.
Main themes
The production and the major transformations of industrial organic compounds from carbo- and petrochemistry will be treated. The importance of catalysis will be demonstrated. Some aspects of fine chemistry will be emphasized.
