 Content and teaching methods
Concept of sculpture in the Middle Ages. Aesthetic, iconological, functional and technological characteristics of the sculpture of the period: socio-professional status of sculptors. The Belgian heritage from the 11th to the 16th centuries: typology, stylistic developments, regional diversification and figure heads. Analyses of the works in situ (museums, public buildings). Practical exercises in the Louvain-la-Neuve Museum.
