In this talk, I will present the construction of the Global Parametrix for the Riemann-Hilbert Problem associated to the kissing polynomials, a family of orthogonal polynomials with respect to a complex weight. The construction is modeled after previous work of Arno Kuijlaars and Man Mo (2011). An interesting byproduct of this construction, not seen in the case of real orthogonality, is that there is a discrete set of values of a certain parameter for which one cannot solve the model Riemann-Hilbert problem, and as such the corresponding polynomials fail to exist. This is joint work with Guilherme Silva of the University of Michigan.
