Message of the Coordinators

We just had our Benelux Meeting on Systems and Control at SolCress in Spa and it was a great success. The location was fully booked with about 200 participants... which unfortunately caused some problems with the WiFi access and waiting lines for the meals. But apart from these small inconveniences, we had a great scientific program with three first rate plenary speakers as highlights : Frank Allgöwer from the University of Stuttgart, Mario Sznaier from Northeastern University in Boston and Pablo Parrilo from MIT in Cambridge. And then there were the many contributed talks, most of them presented by our junior researchers. The high quality of the contributed presentations is a trademark of this conference and it culminates in the recognition of the Best Junior Presentation by the "BJP Award", that was given this year to Yanick G.M. Douven of Eindhoven University of Technology with the presentation "Retina tracking using an Optical Coherence Tomography probe".

We want to thank all DYSCO members who participated in this event for making it such a success.

Paul Van Dooren and Julien Hendrickx
Coordinators of DYSCO
