Message of the Coordinator
Newsletter subscription
I'd like to welcome all the new members who joined our network. I hope that they will find our network an inspiring environment to develop and expand their research interests. The newsletter is our main tool to distribute information of our network and you will find a lot of information about our networking activities. Have a look at the website of our Graduate School in Systems, Optimization, Control and Networks (see http://sites.uclouvain.be/socn/); the first course is scheduled already in mid October. You will also find information on the seminars organized in the different universities. And most importantly, I wish to draw your attention to the IAP Study day that will be hosted by our KULeuven and UCLouvain on Thursday December 1st in Louvain-la-Neuve. We will send you more detailed information as soon as possible, but you can take note of this date already !
I wish all of you an excellent academic year !
A message to all IEEE members
There is a proposal being advanced at the highest level of the IEEE to modify the IEEE Board of Directors (the so-called IEEE2030 initiative). This fall, there will be a ballot on a constitutional amendment to modify/optimize the IEEE Board Structure. The IEEE Control Systems Society President, Frank Doyle, has very strong feelings about this amendment and urges all IEEE members to express their opinion about it. You will find out more about this on http://www.ieeecss.org/e-letter/2016/jul/special-issue-e-letter-july-23-2016
