Message of the Coordinator

I think that we had a very successful study day at the Conference Center of IBIS Styles in Louvain-la-Neuve last month : even though we had many speakers the schedule allowed for a lot of discussion time, bacause of the parallel sessions and the introduction of the scientific speed dating session. I'd like to thank again all speakers and "speed daters" for making this such a success.

I also want to congratulate Joos Vandewalle with his "Charles Desoer Technical Achievement Award" delivered by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and recognizing his achievement in education, technological innovation and service.

EUCCO2016, 4th European Conference on Computational Optimization - Leuven, Belgium, Sept. 12-14, 2016

The European Conference on Computational Optimization (EUCCO) series was started in 2004. The first edition took place in Dresden, and was followed in 2007 by a conference in Montpellier, and in 2013 by a conference in Chemnitz. The 2016 edition will be held in Leuven, Belgium. It is organized by the KU Leuven Center of Excellence on Optimization in Engineering (OPTEC), and by the TEMPO Marie Curie Initial Training Network: Training in Embedded Predictive Control and Optimization.

The scope of the conference series is quite broad as it brings together scientists from a diversity of subdisciplines from the fields of computational optimization, algorithms and applications. The current edition will have special emphasis on Embedded Optimization and Optimization in Engineering, but will also continue its more traditional focus on large scale optimization, optimization with partial differential equations, and numerical optimization algorithms and software.

Invited plenary speakers are: Stephen Boyd (Stanford, USA), Yurii Nesterov (Louvain, Belgium), Sina Ober-Bloebaum (Oxford, UK), Colin Jones (Lausanne, Switzerland), Niels Aage (Lyngby, Denmark), Marc Teboulle (Tel-Aviv, Israel), and Boris Vexler (Munich, Germany).

The abstract submission is currently open. Any additional suggestions for focus sessions or minisymposia are also welcomed.
