Message of the Coordinator

Let me first wish you the very best for 2011 and let us hope it will bring us good news about the future of the IAP programme.

May I therefore remind you to express your support for this programme via the petition that was initiated by Philippe Mettens, Chairman of the SPP Belgian Federal Science Policy ? For this, you just need to fill in the petition that you will find on

http://www.belspo.be/belspo/home/petition_en.stm

In 2008, a similar petition addressed to the Prime Minister concerning the survival of the IAP programme collected more than 11000 signatures and was critical in saving the programme at that time.

Don't forget to mark the following dates in your agendas : the next IAP day is planned in Liège on May 16th, rather than the originally proposed date of May 17th; the graduate school course of Karl Sigmund will take place in February (see below) and the Benelux Meeting in Systems and Control will be held from March 15 to 17 in Vossemeren (see the previous newsletter).

Best wishes to all of you.

Paul Van Dooren
Coordinator of DYSCO
