Specific Admission Requirements

Students enrolled in bachelor’s programmes in modern languages and literature (general and Germanic ) in addition to other bachelors in the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters, will have priority for acceptance to the minor in Dutch studies. It is also open to students from other faculties within the university (bachelors in economic, social and political sciences, sociology and anthropology, information and communication and bachelors in law, for example).

However, enrolment will be on the basis of the prorated class management options available to the modern languages programme committee (maximum of 50 students).

Students interested in this minor must already have “intermediate user B1 threshold level“ as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Students will be selected following a placement test organised during the first week of the first term (https://uclouvain.be/329415).
Each student will submit an admission application file comprising:

  • a cover letter written in Dutch,
  • a short CV
  • official transcripts of courses in Dutch at university or anything likely to support the application in this regard.

The file should be addressed to the LMOD Administrative Office as well as to the academic coordinator for the minor (Aug 30th).
