Specific Admission Requirements
2. Evidence of sufficient command of the French language (Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ).
3. Evidence of practical musical and/or musicology experience acquired prior to embarking on a Master's degree (Minor in Musicology, University Certificate in Musicology (foundation) [30.0], Certificate in Musicology (additional module)), involvement in the activities of a music conservatory, course in history of music, methodology, etc., taken at an academy or art college (IMEP Graduate School of Arts, the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music, etc.). Students who hold a Certificate in Musicology (additional module (https://uclouvain.be/xprog-2017-musa9ce)) qualify for exemptions.
For students who do not have the necessary qualifications, prerequisites will be added to their Master's programme (15 credits maximum).
Course equivalences must be approved by the Chair of the Examination Board, the Examination Board Secretary and the Vice Dean.
4. Students wishing to pursue a Master's degree with a teaching focus must have a French Community of Belgium diploma; failing this, they will have to pass a French language proficiency examination to demonstrate that their command of written and spoken French is equivalent to Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (for further information, visit https://uclouvain.be/en/study/inscriptions/french-language-master-teaching.html (https://uclouvain.be/en/study/inscriptions/french-language-master-teaching.html)).

Les programmes de master de l’enseignement supérieur artistique et de l’enseignement supérieur hors université cités ci-dessous (catégorie 3) donnent un accès direct au master moyennant : (1) des connaissances théoriques et/ou une expérience pratique en arts du spectacle acquises antérieurement à l’entrée en master; (2) la remise d’un dossier; (3) un entretien d’admission obligatoire, à la mi-septembre, à l’issue duquel le jury peut décider d’un complément éventuel de 15 crédit maximum, à suivre durant la 1ère année du master. |

It is possible to gain admission to all masters courses via the validation of professional experience procedure.
Pour accéder au master en arts du spectacle, les adultes en reprise d’études, s’ils ne sont pas titulaires d’un diplôme autorisant l’accès direct au master, peuvent faire valoir les savoirs et compétences utiles acquis par leur expérience personnelle ou professionnelle (VAE). Cette expérience utile doit correspondre à au moins cinq années d’activités, compte non tenu des années d’études supérieures qui n’ont pas été réussies. Au terme d’une procédure d’évaluation, un jury juge si les aptitudes et connaissances des candidats sont suffisantes pour suivre le master avec succès et impose éventuellement un complément de cours de 15 crédits maximum (ces cours seront désignés par le jury parmi les cours de l’année préparatoire et suivis durant la première année du master). Le Centre d’études théâtrales favorise résolument la présence des adultes aux côtés des jeunes étudiants. Pour leur permettre de suivre les études tout en travaillant, les cours sont en majorité regroupés sur certains jours de la semaine. Les étudiants qui justifient d’une occupation professionnelle sont autorisés à étaler leur master sur trois ou quatre années, à condition que la décision soit prise avant l’inscription à l’année d’études et reçoive l’accord de la direction du Centre.

Admission and Enrolment Procedures for general registration

All requests for admission based on the student’s academic record (as well as category II and III bridging programmes) should be submitted to Mme Fiorella Flamini, Study Adviser at the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters (Collège Mercier, 14 bte L3.06.01, Place Cardinal Mercier B-1348 Louvain-la-Neuve, conseiller.etudes-fial@uclouvain.be, tel. : +32 (0)10 47 48 57). The application file should include a letter in support of the application, academic transcripts for every year in higher education, a copy of the qualification(s) gained and, where the student has had a professional career, a curriculum vitae.
