Interpretation of electrocardiograms

Students and doctors who wish to gain the Certificate in the interpretation of electrocardiograms should take :

INTR3290Interpretation of electrocardiograms  [45 hours +0 hours] (4 credits)

Certificates will be awarded to students gaining a minimum of 14/20 in the examination.  

 

Preventive medicine  

To enable doctors to comply with the official requirements for working with babies and young children, the Faculty of Medicine provides additional training of 30 hours in the field of preventive medicine for babies and young children.
PEDI2190 Additional training in preventive medicine for babies and young children  [30 hours] (3 credits)

This training is also open to :
- general practitioners  who have enrolled for a single course at UCL.
- general practitioners  who have enrolled for the Advanced Master in General Medicine at UCL.
- paediatricians who have enrolled for the Advanced Master in Paediatrics at UCL.
- students from the Advanced Master in Public Health.
Official certificates are awarded by the Faculty of Medicine to holders of the degree of doctor in medicine and who have gained a minimum of
12/20 in the examination.

Use of X-rays for medical diagnosis (Royal Decree of 07/09/1993, Moniteur belge of  15/10/1993)

Students and doctors who wish to gain professional status in the use of X-rays for medical diagnosis or treatment within their specialization should take the following courses :

RDGN3120 Principles, techniques and quality control in medical imaging [25 hours + 5 hours] (3 credits)
RPR2002 Advanced radioprotection[20 hours + 10 hours] (3 credits)

Candidates must also do a placement of 4 weeks in a medical imaging department approved by the programme committee. For RDGN 3120 and the placement, exemptions may be given by the programme committee to specialist doctors or candidates in certain disciplines including cardiology, pneumology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, anaesthesiology, orthopaedic and vascular surgery, neurology and neurosurgery.
