Graduates enrolled on the Master in Economic and Social Policy programme are working towards becoming development workers capable of analysing the contemporary social, economic and political environment, making decisions and operating in an informed and considered manner in their professional and social lives, for the furtherance of social justice and efficiency.
The students pursuing this course are already active as professionals and/or citizens. Throughout the programme, the students draw on this experience and compare it with the theoretical and methodological knowledge, tools and frameworks and vice versa. The Master’s programme thereby enables them to call into question and enhance their professional and/or personal development, incorporating an academic approach, an analytical outlook and critical detachment.
In addition, the specific goal of the Master in Economic and Social Policy programme is to produce, through collaborative learning, students able to stimulate exchanges, identify and share different points of view, enhance the problem-solving process and promote dialogue to develop common proposals.
On completion of the Master’s, the graduates will have acquired a comprehensive base of knowledge, theories and analytical frameworks in the various human sciences disciplines: sociology, economics, philosophy, political sciences and social psychology. In addition, they will have adopted a continuous development approach enabling them, as professionals, to adapt and evolve positively in their personal and professional environment.
On successful completion of this programme, each student is able to :
AA.1. Display a command of and combine disciplinary knowledge and theoretical models in the social, political, economic and cultural fields in order to clarify issues related to living together, cohesion and social justice.
AA.2. Analyse real-life problematic situations related to economic and social issues in contemporary society from different disciplinary perspectives in human sciences, develop strategies for innovation and change and formulate proposals for practical and contextualised responses and/or actions.
AA.3. Devise and implement a research project, adopting a scientific approach and robust methodology, to define and explore in detail a social, political, economic or cultural issue.
AA.4. Adopt a detached and analytical approach to their own experiences, taking from them different angles of approach to the analysis of social, political, economic or cultural issues.
AA.5. Anticipate changes in society with a view to action and change.
AA.6. Use the cross-functional skills (continuous development, communication, teamwork, accountability and transfer skills) required to devise and effectively carry out actions in the social, political, economic and cultural fields.
