The research placement takes place under the responsibility of a co-supervisor or an adviser who is a tenured member of the academic or research staff, who is the contact person for the doctoral student’s home institution.

Apart from particular cases specially approved by the Faculty, the total length of the visit(s) made by the doctoral student to UCL may not be less than 6 months and may not extend to more than 4 years.
