The preparatory year provides students with some basic knowledge and skills in oriental philology to help them sucessfully follow the Master [60] in Ancient Languages and Literatures: Oriental Studies or the Master [120] in Ancient Languages and Literatures: Oriental Studies.

The programme includes courses aimed at developing  :

• Linguistic skills (study of two ancient oriental languages, with the possible addition of a modern oriental language) ;
• Literary skills (study of the history of literature, analysis and understanding of literary texts).
