This bachelor's programme provides a specific training in Ancient Languages and Literatures, based on a solid general background in Philosophy and Letters. The goal is to study written sources in Greco-Roman Antiquity. Analysis and translation of Greek and Latin texts plays a central role in the programme, which aims to develop an in-depth knowledge of the classical languages and of modern techniques in text interpretation, literary theory and linguistics.
At the end of their Bachelors, students will be skilled in the following domains of their speciality :
- active and receptive skills in classical languages (Greek, Latin) ;
- translation of literary texts ;
- literary and linguistic analysis ;
- history of Greek and Latin literatures ;
- history of Greco-Latin civilisations.
