Wathever the focus or the options chosen, the programme of this master shall totalise 120 credits, spread over two years of studies each of 60 credits
One focus from the following :
Options or optional courses
2° Provide proof of a sufficient level in French (B1 of the European Framework of Reference )
3° Student must demonstrate :
a) the ability to express himself, draft texts, summarise and use his imagination;
b) a previous introduction to the philosophical, literary or artistic disciplines (e.g. via the Minor in Culture and Creation [30.0]);
c) practical experience in performing arts acquired prior to beginning the master. Theatre courses, internships and workshops followed at the Académie, school or university are just some examples of this type of experience. Advanced skills in stage management is a vital condition to start the teaching focus of the master.
4° In the absence of sufficient training in one or several of these subjects, prerequisites are added to the masters programme (maximum 15 credits).
If the total number of prerequisites exceeds 15 credits, access to the master will be subject to the student passing an Preparotory year for Master in Performing Arts [60.0], the programme of which, totaling 60 credits maximum, will be drawn up based on the student's file.
Course equivalences are submitted for approval to the chairman of the jury, the secretary of the jury and the academic faculty secretary.
5° Submit an application before 5 September, accompanied by a file containing copies of previous qualifications, a detailed list of higher education courses which may have been taken, a curriculum vitae and three passport photos. An admissions test or interview will take place in mid-September (just one session is planned).

Strong points of the pedagogical approach
The scope of this programme is essentially theoretical since it promotes dialogue with theatre practice, allowing students to gain practice in writing drama, production and stage management.
Contact with and immersion in theatrical life takes place throughout the course, through work placements in theatrical institutions, as assistants in production, on reading panels, in translating or adapting pieces for the theatre, in management, in technical management or in managing actors and so on. Not only does this provide students with hands-on experience but is also a way of entering the profession.
A cultural programme of different shows and events to see throughout the year as well as monthly meetings (opportunities for group discussion and debate), enable students to make links between the theory they have learnt, the practical experience they have gained and what they have felt as spectators ; in this way, they can hone their critical faculties.
Courses are evaluated according to current university regulations (see General Examination Regulations). Students may find further information on specific evaluation methods in the course descriptions.
In addition, students studying for a Master’s degree are able to study in other countries through the Erasmus international exchange programme. These exchanges are for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 1 year and are financed by the university. They provide students with the opportunity of doing one of the work placements in the Master’s programme in another European country. However, students must ensure that this will not prevent them from attending the rest of their courses regularly.
