Aims

This course has two objectives : an epistemological one that aims at analysing the source and the functioning of the myth in collective and individual imaginaries, a descriptive one whose aim is to compare diachronically and synchronically comparable mythical universes from different cultures (Greek-Roman, Celtic, Egyptian, African, Asian, Antiquity) or also to analyse the continuities of a mythical system throughout one particular culture.

Evaluation methods

Evaluation: based on the requested participation of the students during the year and on the writing of a paper of about 20 pages to be defended orally in front of the teaching staff. The details and subject will be specified at the beginning of the course; The student's ability to implement the methodological and descriptive approaches discussed at the courses will be assessed.
