Master in History of Art and Archaeology: Musicology [60.0] - MUSI2M1
The Master in History of Art and Archaeology: Musicology aims to give the student advanced training in methodology and criticism in the field of musicology.
The master aims to provide second level musicology training of a less specialised nature than the 120 course, but just as complete when it comes to learning. General presentation of the programme
The programme is made up of :
♦ core courses of 45 credits, including 20 credits for the end of study work; ♦ and one option of 15 credits, to be taken in one of the partner institutions (Brussels, Namur or Liège).

Master [120] in History of Art and Archaeology: Musicology [120.0] Direct access to the second year of the master; training includes the Dissertation and the Dissertation seminar (30 credits), one focus and the possible further trainings (maximum 30 credits). Links to the Teacher Training Certificate (upper secondary education) : Access to Teacher Training Certificate (upper secondary education) - History of Art and Archaeology, general [30.0] is only available to students who have gained a Master’s degree in History of Art and Archaeology: General. To be awarded the status of a fully qualified teacher, holders of a Master’s degree in History of Art and Archaeology: Musicology [60.0] are required to undergo additional training; the year-long training programme must include a dissertation and a dissertation seminar (30 credits), the teaching focus (30 credits) and other additional training (maximum 30 credits). Nevertheless, the Master’s degree in History of Art and Archaeology: Musicology when combined with the programme Teacher Training Certificate (upper secondary education) - History of Art and Archaeology, general [30.0] does enable holders of the degree to teach, but does not lead to a full teaching qualification.
