Focuses

The student chooses one of the following focuses :
  • Research Focus;
  • Professional Focus.

There is no teaching focus in this programme as it does not lead to the  award of the ‘agrégation’ teaching qualification (agrégation de l'enseignement secondaire supérieur - AESS).

To gain the full qualification, students who have gained a Master’s degree in French and Romance Languages and Literatures: French as a Second Language  are required to undergo additional training; the year of training includes a dissertation and a support seminar (30 credits), the teaching focus  (30 credits) and other additional training (maximum 30 credits).

Nevertheless, the Master’s degree in French and Romance Languages and Literatures: French as a Second Language when combined with the ‘agrégation’ programme in French and Romance Languages and Literatures (30 credits) enables students to teach but without the full qualification.
