Preparatory year for Master in History [58.0] - HIST1PM
The preparatory year aims to introduce students to fundamental research techniques in history and to put these theoretical techniques into practice during two seminars. The preparatory year also aims to help students acquire or increase their language skills (one ancient and one modern language) to help them sucessfully follow the
Master [60] of arts in History [60.0]
or the
Master [120] of arts in History [120.0]
.
Depending on the nature of the course and the teaching activities in question, the evaluation will take different forms. Some courses will involve oral and/or written evaluations (held during one of the three exam sessions), whilst the evaluation of seminars will involve more substantial participation on the part of the student as well as assessment of individual course work. Those exams relating to courses on communication skills will evaluate the student's level, i.e. the practical use of the language in relevant situations.
