Studies in French and Romance languages and literature follow a threefold objective. They provide linguistic training which develops reflection on languages and the manner in which we speak as well as helping students completely master the French language, both orally and in writing. In the field of literature, this course brings students face to face with an in-depth analysis of French texts, both ancient and modern, as well as the history of French and European literature. Students also address the process of literary creation through examining aspects of local cultural heritage. Thanks to this dual approach, both linguistic and literary, the course offers students the points of reference they need to find their place in our history as well as in the day-to-day lives of French-speaking people. The course also offers students the chance to learn a second Romance language (Italian or Spanish), providing both language lessons and courses in Italian literature and culture.
