Students with an option in "Computing and Applied Mathematics" should be able to :
- Identify engineering fields which require a synergy between applied mathematics and computing, such as algorithmics, scientific computing, modelling of computer systems, optimization, automatic learning or data scanning.
- Understand and judiciously implement methods and techniques of advanced algorithmics such as optimization methods, constraint programming, graph algorithmics, numerical algorithmics or the analysis and design of algorithms.
- Identify and implement models and techniques relating to statistics, automatic learning and data scanning; identify classes of applications such as the processing of noised-corrupted data, shape recognition or automatic extraction of information from large sets of data.
