Content
The objective of the course is to share the theoretical and methodological tools for analyzing an education or training policy as the result of multiple interactions among actors from various fields (political, economic, social, cultural). To do this, the aim is to analyze, in terms of actors and issues, the major changes that have shaped the fields of education and training over the past few decades. Examples will be drawn from various sectors of adult education and training: teaching, vocational training, lifelong learning, etc. Political developments in French-speaking Belgium will be contextualized with those observed in other national and international contexts.
Teaching methods
The course sessions are structured around a combination of lectures, reading assignments, opportunities for grasping theoretical frameworks, and collective discussions focused on professional realities.
Evaluation methods
The evaluation consists of the following two parts:
- Ongoing individual assessment based on reading and analyzing scientific articles throughout the semester.
- A final group assessment involving an in-depth analysis of a specific education or training policy.
