Content
The course covers the following topics: management and protection of the archaeological heritage (international requirements and translation into laws at the national legislation and regional levels), preventive conservation, restoration and display of the archaeological heritage (preliminary studies, diseases, preventive conservation, treatments, monitoring, reserves and depots management, presentation of archaeological remains, sites museums, decision-making in conservation within various socio-economic frameworks), archaeological practices implementing the Valletta 1992 convention in the concerned European countries with some comparisons with non-European areas, management of the protection (protection degrees, criteriology).
Teaching methods
The course covers the following topics: management and protection of the archaeological heritage, preventive conservation, restoration and display of the archaeological heritage, management of the protection and archaeological practices in the Valletta 1992 European countries with some comparisons with non-European lands.
Evaluation methods
Written examination based on a scenario simulating concrete actions to be led by the students as real actors in the management of archaeological inheritage.

All the materials: readings, handbook chapters, bibliographies, iconography, several media, etc. are made available.
