Content
The course centres around authentic written and audio-visual documents (newspapers, the Internet, radio and television broadcasts, etc.) which will also help students explore various socio-cultural aspects of English-speaking countries and make them familiar with a range of registers and varieties of English.
Students will develop their proficiency in English through a series of oral and written communicative/practical exercises. They are required to take an active part in the various exercises in class (conversation, role plays, debates, short prepared presentations, and prepared oral or written reports about texts). Special emphasis will be placed on accuracy and pronunciation.

Teaching methods
Throughout the year, students are expected to take part in a number of additional study activities outside classes:
- listening and reading comprehension exercises
- preparing short presentations and oral or written reports about texts
- regularly studying the vocabulary included in Oxford Word Skills (Intermediate): tests will be organised on a regular basis (formative assessment).
