Content
The Socio-Anthropology of Living unit will aim at acquiring knowledge about the social and cultural practices of living. This knowledge should enable architecture students to make choices in the work of architectural design. An ex cathedra presentation will introduce the general questions of the relationship between practices and inhabited places. It will then develop, in a diachronic perspective and for the Western world, notions of anthropology based on physical devices of inhabited space. Finally, it will propose, in a more applied manner, methodologies for observing and recording inhabited practices.
An exercise of observation of behaviours in the public and/or domestic space (according to the sanitary situation) will close the course and will be the occasion to experiment with methods of human sciences likely to be used by the architect. Insofar as living is the central theme of the second term of the architectural project teaching unit of the annual block 3 of the bachelor's cycle, links may usefully be established between the two teaching units.

Evaluation methods
Observation and critical interpretation work of behaviors and social practices in given places : individual work of 6 A3 to submit the day of the exam in June session.
