1 The student will receive in this seminar the grounding necessary to carry out a research task in the field of contemporary Spanish literature and to take part in a scholarly debate in this field.

Content
This seminar focuses on the study of love discourse in the contemporary Spanish-American novel. The aim of the seminar is twofold: to become familiar with an interdisciplinary theoretical framework (literary, philosophical and sociological studies) in relation to the problematic of love and to develop specific skills in the analysis of the novel.
Teaching methods
The seminar will be based on the students' readings and interactions, which will allow them to progressively build the theoretical and methodological framework, as well as to become familiar with the proposed corpus of novels. A first written and then oral version will be the occasion of a first formative evaluation before the final version is submitted.
Evaluation methods
The assessment is based on a written paper submitted at the end of the semester, after a discussion of a draft in the seminar. In case of insufficient participation in the seminar (not reading the preparatory documents; not submitting a draft; not attending the discussions), points will be deducted from the grade received for the final written work.
