Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
1	Contribution of teaching unit  to learning outcomes assigned to programme  With regard to the learning outcomes assigned to the Master's programme in Interpreting, this teaching unit contributes to the development and acquisition of the following goals: 2.1, 2.3, 3.3, 6.4 On completion of this course the student will be able to: - Deploy analytical methods and comprehension techniques and demonstrate the capacity to digest information in rapidly decoding the content of a text drafted in Language C and rendering it fluently in Language A; - Practise theory-informed transposition techniques to perfection - Detect underlying socio-cultural references in a text and render them appropriately in Language A; - Demonstrate flexibility and mental acuity in adapting without hesitation to novel communicative situations;

Content

The lessons consist of a series of practical translation exercises about life in society and current events.

Teaching methods

Translation in the form of spontaneous practical exercises with comments and revisions.

Evaluation methods

Continuous assessment throughout the semester, based on practical exercises.
In case of failure in the January session, the student may either, depending on the material possibilities, carry out some additional exercises, so that a new continuous assessment is obtained, or present an oral examination in August/September, under the same conditions as the course sessions.

Other information

Attendance is required.
If the health situation requires it, both the courses and the tests in August/September can be done remotely.
