At the end of the course the student will be able to reach the common required competencies regardless of their previous academic levels and build up a fundamental reading background. The student will capable of forming a critical approach and to comprehend the specific issues of conservation-restoration of cultural immovable heritage. |

The genesis and evolution of the notion of conservation and the concepts of restoration.
The main institutions dealing with heritage, international and national organisations and relative policies, reglementation and legislation.

Current heritage issues: authenticity, strategies before, during and after armed conflicts, environmental concerns, historical urban landscapes.
