Main themes
This learning module is focused on communicative competence. Starting from various types of activities, the communication strategies, and productive, receptive, interactive and mediating skills are developed, taking the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages as a starting point.
The themes tackled are: the educational system in certain Spanish-speaking countries, forced migration, illegal migration, the carceral system, inequality, democracy, social mobilization, political negotiation, current events in Spanish-speaking countries in conflict, culture (film, music theatre, etc.).
One unit is devoted to the writing of online résumés.

This learning module aims at developing all the language and communication skills entrenched in a communicative, lexical and grammatical approach.
The methodology is very varied and includes carrying out various assignments (written and oral) throughout the course, linked to the themes tackled.

Grammar is tackled using texts as a starting point (grammar-in-use); interactive classes, role-playing, debates on current events.The acquisition of vocabulary is implemented using the lexical approach.

Continuous assessment:- Tests and presentations = 30 % of the final score;
- Final written exam = 40 % of the final score;
- Final oral exam = 30 % of the final score.

Evaluation methods
The following are the exam modalities for the December 2020 session. Apart from the modality of the written part of the exam, the subject and the date of the evaluation remain the same as announced and explained during the first session of Classes.
1. Changes to content: for the oral part, press kit, 2 articles instead of 3 (see below)
2. Assessment material: all the material seen in the course and tutorials, the themes treated (ciudades, pobreza, asentamientos informales y / o precarios, habitación social; elaboration of a CV, cualidades y bazas, etcétera), reverse classes and the role plays, the vocabulary of the course, with the verbal forms worked on each occasion.
3. Assessment characteristics: oral exam, via Teams.
Part 1: mini press kit of 2 articles in Spanish (instead of 3) on the same subject, and from 2 different sources. Analysis, perspective, comments, critical thinking in the presentation of the subject. List of ESPA → FRAN vocabulary comprising 20 words (from articles).
A 2nd part will include grammar questions in context and vocabulary of the course.
Total: 25 ’per student.
