The sessions will address the following themes:
- Quantitative Surveys: General issues
- Presentation of the main demographic and social survey programs
- Typologies of quantitative and technical surveys and problems specific to retrospective and prospective surveys
- Identification of the target population
- Events and reference periods
- Construction of the questionnaire
- Formulation of questions and nature of variables
- Elaboration of a plan for analyzing the questionnaires
- Intoduction to sampling methods

Evaluation methods
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.
JanuaryGroup work to present the characteristics of a survey program (e.g. GGP, SHARE, EDS, LSMS) (10%)
Group work to develop a quantitative survey protocol and a questionnaire module that will be pre-tested. Two interim oral presentations are planned (1st presentation: 10%; 2nd presentation: 10%). A written work containing a critical evaluation of the achievement of the different stages of this work and the questionnaire module will be submitted early January (30%).
This evaluation is completed by a written evaluation in session. (40%)
Septembre
Students can either present only the written evaluation (40%), or the the written work (30%), or both. An oral presentation of the work is also possible (20%).
