Prerequisites

The prerequisite(s) for this Teaching Unit (Unité d’enseignement – UE) for the programmes/courses that offer this Teaching Unit are specified at the end of this sheet.
Content
The course will offer an introduction to public relations as a field of professional activity. The content presented, which will develop the themes indicated, will always be related to two dimensions: the preparation of conceptual and notional bases necessary to become professionals of the field; an introduction to the professional practice of public relations, including strategic thinking and the central and transversal role of Public Relations within an organisation.
Teaching methods

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.

Lecture presentations with applications and case studies, individual and group exercises, accompanied group work, based on a real case study presented by the client.
Green code: face-to-face sessions. Code yellow or orange: sessions will be held in distance learning; if the number of students is sufficiently small, some sessions may be held face-to-face. Face-to-face meetings with the working groups will be possible with a yellow code.
Evaluation methods

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.

The course and the evaluation will take place in two parts:
6.5 points out of 20: individual written work to be submitted via Moodle.
13.5 out of 20 points: group work to be submitted via Moodle and oral presentation in the presence of the client. Please note: an additional group exercise will allow the selected groups to receive a bonus point.
More information on the modalities will be given at the beginning of the course.
Both parts (individual work and group work) are compulsory (an absence rating derives from the non completion of one of the activities indicated).
Second session: the examination to be taken depends on the score obtained in the first session. The grade of the individual work is retained if it is equal to or higher than half; otherwise, the student will have to present an individual written work to be agreed with the teachers. The grade for group work is retained if it is equal to or higher than half; otherwise, the students concerned will have to present a piece of work to be agreed with the teachers.
Other information
Most of the course activities will be conducted remotely, via the Teams platform, with the support of other platforms, including the course Moodle page. Some sessions of the course are planned for physical presence in the audience, if possible. Accompanying meetings between teachers and small groups of students are planned (in a room if possible, remotely if necessary).
