Teaching methods
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.
Classes will be on-site or online, depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. Before each class activity, the teacher places a range of tools (communication techniques, useful expressions, general and specialised vocabulary, grammar reminders) and resources (written documents, audiovisual aids, web sites ) at the students' disposal. Most of them are mentioned in the course notes and enable the students to interact in communication situations in so far as they have been prepared beforehand. Feedback activities are also planned. Students are given detailed instructions before each activity. Texts and videos are occasionally used as inputs to the oral interaction.
Evaluation methods
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.
Students are assessed both during the term (continuous assessment) and in an exam. This exam will be taken on site or online, depending on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic..- Continuous asessment: In class: preparation and participation in the various activities, such as, for example, giving a talk, telephoning, preparing a business trip etc., in the target language..
- An individual oral exam and a collective oral exam (both similar to some of the activities done during the term)
- Written vocabulary tests are also part of evaluation. These can be taken during the term. However, the test(s) for which students do not get a pass (or the test(s) not taken) will have to be (re)taken (usually on the same day as the collective oral exam).
Other information
More detailed information can be found in the general introduction to the course (see course notes), as well as on the Moodle platform. Owing to the evolution of the Covid-19 crisis, some of the above information may have to be modified. Students will then of course be notified of the possible modifications.
