Content
The CU will provide skills in interpretation in a social context from Russian to French and vice versa. The student will be given advice to help him or her perfect the clear communication of short messages concerning social, medical, legal or administrative issues. He or she will learn the specific vocabulary for each subject and will develop automatic reflexes by means of Russian-French and French-Russian interpretation exercises, role play and real situations. In addition, the exercises will help the student to improve his or her understanding of spoken Russian and expression in Russian, to develop short-term memory, to learn about Russian culture and to develop capacities for interlingual communication and intercultural mediation.
Teaching methods
Face-to-face.
The CU will enable the student to adopt the role of the interpreter in a social context, to practise and to improve his or her ability to reproduce, clearly and faithfully, an oral message from French to Russian or vice versa by means of exercises which are corrected and commented on in class, role-play and real situations.
Particular attention is devoted to the following objectives: teaching the student to use the interpreter's code of ethics in a social environment, making him or her aware of cultural and linguistic differences, and developing his or her capacities for interlingual and intercultural communication and mediation.
