Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

The dissertation (maximum of 150,000 characters, including spaces) should develop a hypothesis in a precise, clear and well-documented way, with the agreement of a supervisor.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 By completing a individual final project, students will demonstrate their ability to develop a philosophical hypothesis which is well documented and argued.
In particular, they will demonstrate their ability to:
1) develop a philosophical topic and deal with it in an informed and coherent way.
2) make appropriate use of research tools by meeting prevailing academic criteria.
3) formulate a hypothesis and set out the underlying argument coherently, clearly and in a well-structured way.

Evaluation methods
Written work is assessed by the supervisor and two readers.
Students are required to respond to questions put to them by their supervisor and two readers at an oral defense.
