Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Main themes
To meet these objectives, the course covers the following : - theories and techniques of communication in making a religious speech; - the active participation of Christians in the trades of communication (newspaper industry, radio, television, Internet); - tracks and suggestions for an education of the general public to the critical reception and use of media productions with religious topics; - ethical stakes of the media.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 - to analyse, interpret and evaluate the religious messages brought by the media;
 
- to appreciate the impact of the media on religious experiences;
 
- to make adequate use of the media as languages and supplements for faith education.

Content
Mirror Effects: When religions and media communicate
Religions would not exist without means of communication. The course shows how different religions are represented in the media and how religious traditions contribute to the vitality and the tensions in the public sphere.
Teaching methods
There will be lectures and important interactive moments.
Evaluation methods
Regular and active participation.
Written exam in June 2019.
